Hi there! My name's Matthew Osborne, and you're on my newly started sports/data science mash-up blog, MTOData. I started this blog as a way to explore and showcase data science in the world of sports. While this may not be an original idea, my hope is to contribute novel approaches to questions that pop up just watching the game on my couch.

In the last semesters of my PhD I plan to try and put up one or two posts a month. Some will be long, some will be short, and others somewhere in between. Although data science can seem incredibly technical and math heavy, I plan to make my posts as approachable as possible and hopefully add a little humor along the way.
